The Ayrshire Clarinet Choir was formed in the mid 1980s by Barbara Lee to enhance the playing opportunities for clarinettists and to encourage players of all ages and abilities

Since then the choir has gone from strength to strength and rehearsals currently have an average attendance of between 10 and 16 members.
Our conductor is Alan McDougall.
The photograph shows some of the Choir playing at a concert held at Oswald Hall, Auchincruive during the Burns an' a' That Festival in May 2005.
During the Session 2006/7, so far we have played in a concert at Straiton Church, at the Ayrshire Hospice Christmas Fayre at the Citadel, Ayr, at the Ayr Hospital Volunteers' 'Thank You' evening, and at Christmas time we played carols at Asda Store in order to help raise funds for SeAscape, the charity which helps the homeless by guaranteeing the first month's rent in private rental accommodation.
Annual membership fees are £30.00 for adults and £5.00 for students.  Rehearsals take place alternately at Cumnock Academy and Alloway Church Halls.

We are always delighted to hear from past members, new recruits or potential members so if you would like to join us, do get in touch!
